Multi-Temporal LU/LC Correlation in Lucknow City

2021
Studies conducted have shown that spatiotemporal changes in land use/land cover (LU/LC) have been relevant factors in causing the changes in weather pattern of cities all over the world independent of scale. Over the years it is reflected in health of vegetation and urbanisation pattern of cities. In this study such relations are shown over Lucknow city of India for 4 decades from year 1985 to 2017 using Landsat series satellite data. Normalised Land Surface Temperature (NLST) is correlated with 4 land use classes classified which area Built-up, Vegetation, Water & Other and corresponding land cover indices NDBI, NDVI, NDWI & NDBaI respectively, and it is found that change in Normalised LST is positively related with all indices except for NDVI with strong negative correlation (R2) and value of these correlations are gradually decreasing from year 1985 to 2017 in Lucknow city.
