Active Cancellation Method Against LFM Radar Using Periodic Sequence Phase-Modulation

The coherent jamming strategy against LFM radar is one of the hottest research topics. This paper proposes a radar target echo cancellation method based on periodic sequence phase-modulation. Firstly, the mathematic principle of periodic sequence phase-modulation is analyzed and the matched filter result of the jamming signal is presented. Then the conditions for cancellation, including the time delay, jamming phase and jamming amplitude, are discussed in detail. Finally, the cancellation result of target echo is verified by simulations. The simulation results prove the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method. This work is an effective multiple false targets jamming method with the ability to cancel the target echo. It is beneficial to the design of the jamming signal.
