Polarisation in proton-He4 scattering at intermediate energies

A proton beam with an intensity of 6 x 107 protons/sec and a maximum polarization of 38% was used to measure the polarization in p-He4 elastic scattering at 22, 29, 40, and 48 Mev. Asymmetries were measured at four angles simultaneously using eight scintillation counters set in pairs at equal angles to the left and right of the target. The angular resolution functions, polarization curves, and polarization contour diagram are presented. (C.E.S.)
