Strahlenchemische Versuche zur Erzeugung von Blei- und Zinnradikalen : Formation of Lead and Tin Radicals in γ-Irradiated 2-MTHF Glass at 77°K

2014
Triphenyltinchloride and -acetate, the corresponding lead compounds, and Tribenzyltinchloride are effective electron scavengers in γ-irradiated glasses from 2-Methyltetrahydrofuran at 77°K. The reaction with the electrons leads to the formation of tin- and leadradicals via dissociative electron capture. Only in the case of the benzyl compound the molecular anion is formed. Wavelength of absorption, extinction coefficients and relative rate constants are reported. The formation of lead radicals is confirmed by observation of their ESR absorption.
