PERCEPCIONES SOBRE LA MATERNIDAD Y LA LACTANCIA: LA IMPORTANCIA DE CONOCER LAS EXPECTATIVAS Y EXPERIENCIAS MATERNAS A TRAVÉS DEL ANÁLISIS TEMÁTICO. PROTOCOLO DE INVESTIGACIÓN CUALITATIVA

2020
Introduction: Women face motherhood as a challenge to which they must adapt to achieve the best possible state of health for themselves and their children in a highly medicalized healthcare environment and within a society that establishes an ideal of motherhood that conditions their experiences regardless of their expectations. Objectives: To know the expectations that women have about motherhood and breastfeeding and the importance of a qualitative research approach that allows to know their reality and improve the social and health care they receive. Methods: A phenomenological approach will be carried out with semi-structured interviews for the collection of data analysed by triangulation through a thematic analysis with the Atlas.Ti 8.3 software. Discussion: It seems necessary to consider qualitative research as the appropriate approach to know those aspects that women consider most important regarding their maternity. Conclusions: Qualitative research provides us with the appropriate scientific knowledge that can support the socio-sanitary needs of women during their maternity, placing them at the centre of the process, to restore the prominence of such a personal experience.
