Electron–phonon coupling reflecting dynamic charge inhomogeneity in copper oxide superconductors

Inelastic scattering measurements reveal a strong electron-lattice coupling in copper oxide superconductors — which goes against conventional theory and suggests that that electron–lattice coupling is associated with charge inhomogeneity.
