On the Performance of Multi-node Cooperative Networks over Composite Nakagami-lognormal Fading Channels using Mixture Gamma Distribution

2013
In this paper, we present the end-to-endperformance of a multi-node cooperative network overindependent non-identical composite Nakagami-lognormal(NL) fading channels using Mixture Gamma (MG)distribution. Novel closed-form expressions for theProbability density function (PDF) and the Momentgenerationfunction (MGF) of the end-to-end Signal-to-noiseratio (SNR) are derived. Moreover, the average Symbolerror rate (SER) and outage probability of the multi-nodecooperative network are found based on the above newexpressions, respectively. Numerical and simulation resultsare shown to verify the accuracy of the analytical results.Compared with the generalized-K (KG) distribution, MGdistribution is more available to approximate the NLdistribution from two aspects of the expression complexityand the analytical accuracy in the performance analysis ofcooperative networks.
