Dissimilated Salvation From Spirit And Flesh Blended: An Reinterpretation Of Du Li-niang(杜丽娘)Image According To Gender Criticism

2005
Tang Xian-zu’s(汤显祖)Peony Pavilion(《牡丹亭》)is a masterpiece of love story in late Ming dynasty, and thus molds the shining female image of DuLi-niang(杜丽娘)in Chinese literary history. Du Li-niang pursue love actively in a equal position with Liu Meng-mei(柳梦梅). She dare violate the moral norm that feudalism morals add to the girls and make the flaming of love burning in her heart. Even in the ghostdom she keeps looking for her dearest lover.By deliberately depicting the brilliant image, the author displays, in the field of the social gender and structural level in social ethics, their fight for the freedom of the human nature, which already presents the female ego consciousness gradually.
