Effectiveness of Beam Steering for Non-Coherent OFDM-DBPSK for Summer and Winter Hydrology

2019
Sea and ocean hydrology has a huge impact on sound propagation processes and underwater acoustic communication consequently. It is not constant, so underwater acoustic communication systems are better to be able to adapt to it. This paper presents a study of the feasibility of phased array with active beam steering implementation in non-coherent OFDM underwater acoustic communication systems with differential binary phase-shift keying of subcarriers. Results of the experimental assessment of this approach in both winter and summer conditions of real aquatic areas of Sea of Japan (Peter the Great Bay) are shown.
