ANTITUMOR EFFECT OF CONJUGATE EX1 OF EPIRUBICIN AGAINST LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKEMIA L 1210

ABSTRACTThe antileukosis effect of the conjugate of anthracycline antitumor antibiotic epirubicin with activated chitosan EX1 was studied on lymphocytic leucosis L 1210(1×106 tumor cell/mouse, i.p.) in hybrid mice BDF1. EX1 conjugate was found to have lower toxicity in doses 1.0–18.0 mg/kg where T/C has values of 282.1 % whle the effect of free epirubicin a dose of 0.25 mg/kg is 176.1 % and 159.4% in a dose of 0.5 mg/kg. The EX1 conjugate is a “depot”-form of epirubicin and showed lower toxicity and higher therapeutic index.
