Polarizing plate and an image display apparatus using the same

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which can be thinned, has high adhesion between a polarizer and a hard coat layer and is excellent in hard coat property of the hard coat layer. SOLUTION: An interposed layer 12 formed of a thermosetting resin is directly stacked on at least one side surface of the polarizer 11, and the hard coat layer 13 formed of thermosetting or photosetting resin is directly stacked on the interposed layer 12. By stacking the hard coat layer 13 on the polarizer 11 via the interposed layer 12, the adhesion between the hard coat layer 13 and the polarizer 11 is improved and the hard coat property of the hard coat layer 13 is also enhanced. Further, because the hard coat layer 13 functions as a protective layer, it is unnecessary to dispose protective layers such as thick TAC film on both sides of the polarizer 11 as in the conventional technique.
