DAMPINGOF TORSIONALSHAFTOSCILLATIONS INTWO INTERACTINGNEIGHBOURINGTURBOGENERATORS

1987
This paper investigatesthe damping of transformers,as shown in Fig.1; this system is torsional oscillations in a power stationwith two referredto as the 1SRsystem. For the controller identical1072MVA generatingunits connectedtoan design, thetwoturbogenerators are firstlyrepresented infinitebus througha series capacitorcompensated by an 'equivalent' singleturbogenerator of whichthe transmissionline. It considersa singlecommon modelorderis thenreduced(9-11). Thereducedorder controlled shuntreactorto damptorsionaloscillations model is then used to design theshunt reactor's of both turbogeneratorshafts. To overcome the controller(SRC)by applyingan optimaloutputfeedback mathematicaldifficulties arisingfromhavingto use a technique, basedon a deterministic interpretationby highorder modelof thepower system, togetherwith Eitelberg(12-13). Digitally computed transient powerfultechniquesforcontroller design, theorderof responsesof the full order system, when it is thesystemmodel is firstlyreducedby considering an subjectedto a severedisturbance, areusedto compare 'equivalent' singlegeneratorandthenapplyinga known theeffectivenessof the abovesingle common shunt modelreductionmethodto this'equivalent' generator's reactor (1SR) versusthat of two individualshunt model. The transientresponse of the complete reactors(2SR)(oneforeachturbogenerator). unreduced system is then evaluatedwhen the two generatorunits are equippedwith thissinglecommon
