A new zero-sequence current suppression control strategy for five-phase open-winding FTFSCW-IPM motor driving system

2017
This paper proposed an unequal zero voltage vector distribution modulation strategy to suppress the zero-sequence current of five-phase open-winding fault-tolerant fractional-slot concentrated-winding interior-permanent-magnet (FTFSCW-IPM) motor driving system with common DC bus. Compared with the conventional eliminating common-mode voltage vectors modulation strategy, this method can well suppress the zero-sequence current caused by dead-time effect. First, the dead-time effect for the open-winding driving system is analyzed. Then based on the reference common-mode voltage and the unequal distribution rule of zero voltage vector, the dwell time of zero voltage vector belongs to each inverter is calculated. Furthermore, comparison between conventional eliminating common-mode voltage vector modulation strategy and the proposed method is conducted on both simulation and experiment. Both simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
