Risk Averse Truck Scheduling at a Cross-Dock Facility

2011
In this paper the authors deal with the scheduling of inbound trucks (ITs) to the available inbound doors (IDs) at a cross dock facility. The authors assume that the truck arrival times are stochastic variables with unknown distributions but with a known range (min and max) and known expected values. The authors propose a modeling framework based on the concept of games against a demon. A number of computational examples are performed to evaluate the performance ratio of the schedule obtained by the proposed approach.
