Generateur rapide d'impulsions aleatoires

1969
Abstract This generator uses pile-up statistics of photo-electrons emitted by the cathode of a photomultiplier tube, which is weakly lighted by a grid controlled tuning indicator. Pulses mean rate at the output of a fast amplitude discriminator is variable from 1 kHz to 25 MHz; this mean rate is moreover controlled, from 0.25 MHz to 25 MHz, by comparing a reference voltage with the voltage provided by a logarithmic ratemeter. The time distribution of such pulses is a Poisson distribution, as it is verified by an experimental device allowing to study the time interval distribution between two successive pulses.
