markers from the Chinese malaria mosquito Anopheles lesteri

10 11 Abstract 12 We developed a microsatellite enriched genomic library for Anopheles lesteri using 13 an enrichment protocol. Fifty-eight microsatellite sequences were identified, of which 14 14 were tested for polymorphism. We designed primers to amplify 14 unique 15 microsatellites, eleven of which amplify cleanly and were polymorphic. A survey of 55 16 individuals showed that 11 loci are highly variable with the number of alleles ranging 17 from 5 to 11, and expected heterozygosity ranging from 0.272 to 0.830. These markers 18 will be useful for population genetic studies and genome mapping in A. lesteri. 19 20
