Targeted delivery of nucleic acids using microfluidic systems

2021
Abstract One of the human concerns from the beginning until now is understanding the path to peace and comfort in life, and he has managed to pave one of these paths in his life by discovering, identifying, and treating diseases. Besides, this field has always been a major focus of scientific and medical research. Nucleic acids have been one of the therapeutic options, particularly for emerging diseases. Since nucleic acids-based drugs are highly sensitive and, in fact, their stability is low, hence one of the most important factors contributing to the efficacy and effectiveness of the drugs is the question of their effective transfer to the target cell and tissue. In this chapter, we aimed to discuss and investigate different aspects and roles of targeted delivery systems based on microfluidics in the delivery of nucleic acids.
