Un litigio sobre la compra-venta de un caballo por la posible existencia de un vicio redhibitorio.: Un ejemplo de como la Albeitería estuvo al servicio de la sociedad cordobesa de 1814.

2019
In the Bishopric of Cordoba’s General Archive a file of the year 1814 is deposited composed of more than 100 documents, referring to a dispute between the priest of Posadas (Cordoba), as a seller, and a merchant of the collation of Campo de la Verdad from Cordoba capital, as a buyer, for the purchase and sale of a horse valued at 1200 reais. The buyer understood that the act of buying and selling should be undone, and the money delivered should be returned, because the soliped was already sick with glanders when the operation was performed. As described in the documents, the animal died due to the disease in the course of the lawsuit. In the litigation the intervention of different albeitares by the buyer was requested. These reviewed the animal, described the pathological process and ruled on the existence or not of redhibitory vice. Although the opinions of the albeitares were fundamental in the resolution of the conflict, the prosecutors of both parties debated getting to question the formation or training of the albeitares. The case described through these documents is an interesting testimony to the history of the albeiteria, because it shows the way of acting of albeitares and blacksmiths and the consideration of their criteria by the society of the moment.
