Prof. dr. Aurel Rusu – inginer silvic și geodez deopotrivă (1917-2020)

It is with great sadness that the Transilvania University of Brasov announces the death of Prof. Dr Aurel Rusu (1917-2020), who passed away on 30 November. Prof. Rusu contributed with the greatest distinction to both forestry and geodesy in Romania. He had a long association with the Faculty of Silviculture and Forest Engineering from Brasov, where he taught from 1949 until his retirement in 1983. He was Dean of faculty from 1972 to 1976 and member of the Faculty Council and the University Senate. For his substantial scientific contributions in forestry and geodesy he became memberof the Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forest Sciences and honorary member of the Association of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. He will be very greatly missed.
