The invention discloses a hollow-core polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber Verdet constant measurement apparatus and a method thereof. The apparatus comprises a light source, a Y waveguide, a fiber to be measured (a hollow-core polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fiber), a detector, an electromagnet, a direct current power supply, a field-effect tube, a signal generator, a lock-in amplifier and a one-dimensional electric control displacement bench. The method comprises the following steps of step1, welding the fiber to be measured; step2, applying a modulation magnetic field; step3, making the fiber to be measured move accurately; and step4, according to a demodulation value, calculating a Verdet constant. In the invention, the apparatus is simple and measurement sensitivity is good; universality is good; and theoretically, the apparatus and the method can be used for measurement of any polarization-maintaining fiber Verdet constants.
