Study on Preparation of SO_4~(2-) Intercalated Mg-Al and Zn-Al Hydrotalcite-like Compounds

SO2-4 intercalated Mg-Al and Zn-Al hydrotalcite-like compounds(HTLcs) were synthesized by coprecipitation from sulfurate and NaOH.The samples synthesized were characterized by XRD and FT-IR.The effects of varying reaction conditions on the crystal structure were investigated.The effect of M2+/M3+ on the crystal structure was also discussed.The results showed that the well crystallized HTLcs were prepared at pH=8,aged temperature in the range 60 ℃ to 80 ℃,aged time from 5 h to 10 h.The pure hydrotalcite phase could be obtained at M2+/M3+ range 2 to 4,but the interlayer spacing increased with the increase of M2+/M3+ ratio.
