APLICACIÓN MÓVIL QUE TRADUCE ECUACIONES MATEMÁTICAS A VOZ MEDIANTE OCR (MOBILE APP THAT TRANSLATES MATH EQUATIONS BY VOICE USING OCR)

Resumen En el presente articulo se realizo el diseno y desarrollo de una aplicacion para dispositivos moviles que permita el acercamiento, principalmente, de las personas con discapacidad visual al uso de las tecnologias de la informacion como una herramienta de apoyo en el aprendizaje de las matematicas a cualquier nivel educativo. El cuerpo academico ITTEH-CA-09 se ha dedicado en los ultimos tres anos a investigar y desarrollar software orientado a promover la inclusion de las personas con discapacidad visual y auditiva. Como resultado de las investigaciones realizadas se ha concluido que no se encuentran herramientas suficientes en el mercado enfocadas a personas con discapacidad visual. Debido a esto y al acercamiento con las asociaciones que apoyan a este grupo de personas se detecto que existe la dificultad de explicar en aula la terminologia matematica a este grupo vulnerable. Por lo cual se realizo una aplicacion utilizando las tecnologias que se encuentran al alcance como los dispositivos moviles, para la captura y procesamiento de la imagen, permitiendo el acercamiento de las personas con discapacidad visual a un entorno educativo para comprender los textos con nomenclatura matematica. Abstract In this article, the design and development of an application for mobile devices was carried out that allows the approach, mainly, of people with visual disabilities to the use of information technologies as a support tool in the learning of mathematics at any education level. The ITTEH-CA-09 academic body has been dedicated in the last three years to research and develop software aimed at promoting the inclusion of people with visual and hearing disabilities. As a result of the investigations carried out, it has been concluded that there are not enough tools in the market focused on people with visual disabilities. Due to this and the approach with the associations that support this group of people, it was detected that there is difficulty in explaining mathematical terminology in the classroom to this vulnerable group. Therefore, an application was made using the technologies that are available such as mobile devices, for the capture and processing of the image, allowing the approach of people with visual disabilities to an educational environment to understand texts with mathematical nomenclature.
