Impact of Computer Self-Efficacy of the Business Students on their Awareness and Usage of Privacy/Security Tools for PCs

As the technology grows, the security and privacy concerns arise due to the emerging threats of security breaches. CSE is carefully planned to increase the awareness and usage of the privacy/security tools to avoid security breaches. The purpose of the study is to find the relationship between CSE, awareness and usage of privacy/security tools for PCs. Highly developed tools were adopted to measure the variables. The reliability for the measuring tool according to Cronbach's Alpha is 0.955. Data was collected from the business students of the institutions of Lahore. Sample size was 331 out of which 182 were males and 149 were females. Results show that most of the students have CSE level above average and there is no gender effect on CSE, Awareness and Usage of Privacy/Security Tools. Pearson Correlation shows positive and significant relationship between the variables. Results of Multiple Linear Regression show that independent variables, CSE and Awareness of privacy/security tools, are making a significant contribution (56.6%) in predicting the Usage of privacy/security tools. It also shows the overall significance of the model.
