A Rigorous Macromodeling Approach to Efficiently Simulate Large Arrays of Complex Scatterers

2018
This paper presents a novel macromodeling approach that allows efficient simulation of large arrays of complex scatterers. In the proposed method, each array element is modeled by a macromodel that is made up of an equivalent electric current density introduced on a fictitious surface surrounding the element and a set of linear discrete operators. Compared to the standard surface integral equation formulations, the proposed method results in fewer unknowns and in a better conditioned linear system that leads to faster computations and lower memory consumption.
