Correlation between rocks of the Tyrone Igneous Complex and the base-metals rich Buchan’s Mining Camp in Newfoundland

Research undertaken by the BGS (GSNI) and other partners confirms for the first time a correlation between rocks of the Tyrone Igneous Complex and the base-metals rich Buchan’s Mining Camp in Newfoundland. This correlation has immediate economic implications for the UK by increasing the mineral potential of this part of Northern Ireland and encouraging further investment through exploration.
