Dielectrophoretic corral trap device for single bioparticle immobilization

We present a lab-on-a-chip dielectrophoretic single particle trapping system that is able to immobilize single particles suspended in solution. Proof-of-concept experiments and numerical simulations with an array of dielectrophoretic particle traps demonstrate that individual micro- and nano-particles can be successfully captured. The developed trap provides the ability to examine the properties of multiple particles by parallel analysis through the micro-array electrode system.
