Dna constructs and plant integrated with the constructs

PURPOSE: To enable express an exotic protein in various kinds of plants, especially in Zea mays, in a high level, by using a promoter isolated from the gene of Zea mays CAB. CONSTITUTION: In a DNA construct containing a promoter region of the chlorophyll a/b binding protein(CAB) gene of Zea mays, the promoter is operably linked to an exogenous DNA encoding a RNA exogenous to the Zea mays. Thereby, the DNA construct expresses the exogenous RNA only under the control of the promoter. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
