К сопоставлению оценки устаревших слов в русском и английском языкознании (на материале пьесы К. Марло «Трагическая история доктора Фауста»)

In the article the problem of translation of the archaic text of C. Marlowe's play "The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus" is considered. Special attention is drawn to the lexical features of the literary text, namely obsolete words. The author makes an attempt to compare obsolete words classifications in Russian and English, and singles out one of translation principles of such texts on the basis of the analysis of a number of researchers' views.
