Design of electric multiple unit for Tatra electric railway

This article defines solution of electric multiple unit designed optimally for traffic, service and technical conditions of Tatra electric railway. Basic concept of electric multiple unit is determined and analyzed, using mathematical methods recommended in literature for traction analysis. Design of electric multiple unit and it´s components are selected according to nowaday trends. Calculated design parameters are further analyzed by simulation of traction dynamics. Results of simulation are presumption of power consumption requirements of designed electric multiple unit.
