Design and Dynamic Performance Analysis of Brushless DC Motor Operating Mechanism for UHV Bypass Switch

In order to meet the special requirements of the ultra-high voltage (UHV) high-speed bypass switch, the structure of the operating mechanism needs to be re-optimized. The target parameters of the operating mechanism are analyzed in this paper. Combined with the mechanical structure and load characteristics of the bypass switch, the permanent magnet brushless DC motor operating mechanism is designed. The parameters of the stator, electric load, magnetic load, pole pair number, air gap, pole arc coefficient and slenderness ratio are optimized. The simulation results show that the permanent magnet brushless DC motor can realize the opening and closing operation of the bypass switch and meet the speed characteristic requirements of the SF6 interrupter, which verifies the rationality of the design.
