Investigations of the temperature dependence of the low energy electronic Raman scattering in Ti2Ba2CaCu2O8 single crystals

1992
Abstract We performed detailed investigation of the low energy part of the electronic Raman scattering continuum in Tl 2 Ba 2 CaCu 2 O 8 single crystals at different temperatures, laser powers, and wavelengths in the Stokes and anti-Stokes regions. The Ratio of Stokes to anti-Stokes intensities could be fit with exp(ω/T) with the values of T substantially larger than the temperatures in the cryostat. We explain this result by laser heating of the sample to an extent consistent with thermal conductivity data. Similarly to the YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 , slope of the low energy part of the continuum in Tl 2 Ba 2 CaCu 2 O 8 increases with decreasing temperature above T c and decreases with decreasing temperature below T c .
