Low crosstalk improved dilated benes networks for photonic switching

2007
An improved dilated Benes (IDB) network and a generally improved dilated Benes (GIDB) network are introduced to improve the crosstalk characteristic of the dilated Benes (DB) network. The signal-to-noise ratio characteristic of the IDB network and the GIDB network is compared with the DB network. Bit error rate produced by crosstalk is experimentally investigated and compared. Results show that the GIDB network is a low crosstalk photonic switching network that can be used in large capacity optical cross-connect nodes.
