Las plataformas educativas en los Programas Universitarios para Mayores: una necesidad de presente y de futuro

espanolLos resultados de la investigacion nacional sobre el uso de las TICs en los Programas Universitarios para Mayores (PUMs) nos han permitido comprobar el nivel de conocimiento y uso de las TICs del alumnado y su creciente acceso a internet tanto a traves de ordenadores personales como de telefonos moviles inteligentes. Por tanto, hemos de tener en cuenta esta informacion a la hora de organizar y dar contenido a los estudios universitarios para mayores. Desde el Programa Interuniversitario de la Experiencia (PIE) y la Universidad Abierta a Mayores (UA) de la Universidad de Burgos (UBU) se aposto desde los inicios por la formacion del alumnado en Nuevas Tecnologias tanto a nivel practico, con cursos y talleres, como a nivel teorico por medio de las diferentes asignaturas. De esta manera se favorece el desarrollo de las competencias necesarias para su uso asi como de las actitudes o motivaciones positivas para el acercamiento efectivo a las mismas. En esta comunicacion, aparte de presentar los resultados del estudio citado anteriormente, buscamos justificar la necesidad de introducir progresivamente el blended learning en los PUMs, concretamente en los de la UBU, como medio o recurso que permita la llegada de la formacion y la investigacion a todos los mayores interesados, independientemente de su lugar de residencia o de sus circunstancias personales. Entendemos que la formacion universitaria ha de ser flexible, abierta y universal y el uso de las plataformas educativas puede contribuir a esa realidad y favorecer una sociedad para todas las edades. EnglishThe results of the national survey on the use of ICT in Third Age University Programs (U3A) have allowed us to be concious of the level of knowledge and use of ICT by students and their increasing internet access through both, personal computers and smartphones. Therefore, we must take this information into account when planning the studies of our seniors. From the Interuniversity Experience Program and the Open University for Seniors of the University of Burgos (UBU) we raised from the beginning an ICT training both on a practical level, through courses and workshops, and as a theoretical level with the different subjects. Thus, the development of necessary skills for their use as well as positive attitudes or motivations for an effective approach to them is encouraged. In this communication, apart from presenting the results of the study cited above, we want to justify the need for phasing the blended learning in U3A progressively, specifically in the UBU, as a resource which can bring both the training and investigation on one hand and the elderly students on the other together, regardless of their place of residence or personal circumstances. We understand that university education must be flexible, open and universal and the use of educational platforms can contribute to this aims and promote a society for all ages.
