Effect of different ratio compatibility Flos puerariae and Seeds of Hovenia dulcis Thunb. on monoamine neurotransmitter of hippocampal tissue in alcoholisim rats

2010
Objective:To study the effect of different ratio compatibility Flos puerariae and seeds of Hovenia dulcis Thunb.on monoamine transmitters and their metabolites of hippocampal tissue in alcoholisim rats. Methods:The alcoholisim rats model were induced by administrating wine and randomly divided into normal group, model group, positive group,Flos puerariae group, seeds of Hovenia dulcis Thunb.Group, and different ratio compatibility groups. After eight weeks, hippocampus were rapidly removed and frozen immediately.HPLC was used to test the contents of monoamine transmitters and their metabolites of hippocampal tissue in alcoholism rats. Results:Compared with normal group, the contents of 5-HT,5-HIAA,NE,HVA,DA and DOPAC of hippocampal tissue increased in model group, but there is no significant difference. Conclusion:These results suggest that alcohol may affect the metabolism of monoamine neurotransmitters, but we need futher research to prove it.
