Emergencia de las mujeres indígenas en América Latina. Debates sobre género, etnicidad e identidad cultural

We review the situation of indigenous women in Latin America, including some of the forms of exclusion and discrimination they suffer in the context of globalization and the nation-state, domination systems that date back to the colonial conquest. Specifically, we discuss the proposals of “gender equality”, “indigenous feminism”, “duality” and “complementarity”, seeking alternatives to femininity and intercultural relations towards a redefinition of the state and a deeper expression of democracy
