Optical Initiation of Polymer Containing Formulations of Azole Metal Complexes

This article focuses on an investigation of the optical initiation of the light-sensitive energetic complex perchlorates 3(5)-hydrazino-4-amino1,2,4-triazole copper(II) perchlorate and 1-H-5-hydrazinotetrazole mercury(II) perchlorate. It is shown that light emission initiates an explosion in energyrich formulations (compositions) based on these complexes, EC-1 and EC-2 respectively. It was found that the pyrotechnic formulation EC-2 containing the mercury complex may be used to initiate detonation in highly energetic materials.
