The invention discloses a new external ship water-tank overflow alarm device and an alarm method thereof. The alarm device comprises an overflow tank connected with a water tank; an electrode protecting box is arranged on the overflow tank; an overflow opening of the water tank is connected with a drain pipe; the drain pipe is connected with the electrode protecting box by using a joint connector; a Pt electrode and a Zn electrode are horizontally arranged in the electrode protecting box and are connected with a resistor by using conducting wires; two ends of the resistor are connected with the input end of a differential amplifier by using conducting wires; the output end of the differential amplifier is connected with the input end of a microprocessor by using conducting wires; the output end of the microprocessor is connected with a buzzer, an LED display lamp and an electric check valve by using conducting wires; and the electric check valve is installed on the water inlet pipe of the water tank.
