The results of the Nigeria Fertility Survey of 1981-1982 undertaken as part of the World Fertility Survey are presented in two volumes. The survey covered approximately 8500 households and almost 10000 respondents to the individual interviews. The first volume contains a description of the survey methodology and an analysis of the main findings. Separate chapters are included on the characteristics of the survey population nuptiality fertility and infant mortality fertility preferences knowledge and use of contraception and non-contraceptive factors affecting fertility. The second volume consists of statistical tables.
