Infrared luminescent properties of tin-silicate oxide glass

2015
Divalent tin-containing silicate glass has shown infrared photoluminescence with the properties, similar to those of bismuth-activated glasses and laser fibers. Relatively long lifetime, wide emission bands within the fiber telecommunication window and good overlapping of the excitation spectra with the wavelengths of the most common laser diodes make it a promising novel material for fiber lasers and amplifiers.
