Thermodynamics of Quantum Hall Ferromagnets
2021
The thermodynamic stability of quantum Hall ferromagnets with filling factors ν = 1 and ν = 2 is studied via inelastic light scattering in strongly interacting two-dimensional electronic systems based on ZnO. For a ferromagnet with ν = 2, it is found that the Curie temperature is determined by the Coulomb energy of the formation of domain walls. For a ferromagnet with ν = 1, the thermodynamic stability is determined by the Zeeman splitting of the spin sublevels.
