The destruction of the active site of adrenal ferredoxin by metopirone.

1980
Abstract Mossbauer studies show that the adrenocorticostatic agent, metopirone, like pyridine and o -phenanthroline, is capable of interacting with iron-sulfur protein from adrenal cortex-adrenodoxin, resulting finally in the removal of iron atoms from the protein. The protein iron atoms are not equivalent in their interaction with metopirone as well as with pyridine and o -phenanthroline: one of them is more reactive in this process than the other.
