Aqueous coating compositions using polyalkylene glycol dialkyl ethers and methods for multi-layer coating

Described are aqueous coating-material compositions suitable for producing multi-layer coats, the compositions containing binders made from water-dilutable polyol compounds in the form of hydroxy-group-containing poly(meth)acrylates, polyurethanes, polyethers, polyesters and/or polyester-modified poly(meth)acrylates, plus cross-linking agents made from aminoplast resins, phenoplast resins and free and/or capped polyisocyanates, and prepared using poly(C2-C3 alkylene)glycole di(C1-C4 alkyl) ethers.
