Research on regulation schemes of Nanjiajiang inlet in Tongling Reach of Yangtze River

Based on the evolution trend of Tongling reach of the Yangtze River and the inlet of Nanjiajiang branch,as well as the request of economic and social development,we put forward three representative regulation schemes,namely,channel-cutoff,branch-blocking and gate-building according to the ideas of dredging,damming and controlling.Comprehensive analysis shows that all of the three projects can alleviate the flood threat at different levels,however,the channel-cutoff scheme is relatively superior in many aspects including enhancing flood prevention,improving river conditions and navigation progress.Therefore,the channel-cutoff scheme is recommended for inlet regulation of Nanjiajiang branch in Tongling Reach.
