Support for multiple levels in a nested virtualization environment

There is a method of treating an event provided that occurs in a nested virtualization data processing environment, where N hypervisors are executed nested, wherein a first hypervisor on the level zero (E0) runs directly on a host machine and other hypervisors interleaved on the planes E1 to En run. The method includes intercepting an event that is generated by software running on the level En, determining a hypervisor x on the plane Ex, which is intended for treating the trapped event, wherein the hypervisor x characteristics emulates the run the trapped event for the software are required which runs on the level Ln.
