A Review on the Research Progress of the Tidal Stream Turbines

Tidal current energy is a rich Marine resource. Compared with other energy sources, it is predictable and the flow rate is stable. For horizontal axis tidal turbine, this paper expounds the development of horizontal axis tidal turbine from scientific research institutions at home and abroad, and introduces the “windmill” type, dome type, “hollow” tubular trend to turbine blade design and hydraulic performance study. This study is of certain significance to the turbine performance optimization.
