Black phosphorene and PEDOT:PSS-modified electrode for electrochemistry of hemoglobin

2018
Abstract A black phosphorene (BP) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) -poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) composite was prepared with the aim of immobilizing hemoglobin (Hb) directly on the electrode. The incorporation of BP into PEDOT:PSS resulted in a stable film. The Hb immobilized on the electrode exhibited direct electron transfer, showing a pair of well-defined redox peaks, indicating that BP accelerated the direct electrochemistry of Hb. This modified electrode exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance for the reduction of various substrates and was used for detection in real samples with satisfactory results. This demonstrates the potential applications of BP in electrochemical biosensing.
