The effects of somatostatin on stress-induced gastric lesion in mice

2005
Unlike previous data on gastric lesions in rats, the influence of somatostatin (0.0001, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1 mg/kg b.w. i.p.) applied just before 3h - water immersion stress (water temperature 26 C) was investigated in mice. In comparison to the controls (saline 4.0 ml/kg b.w. i.p.) the two lowest were ineffective. In contrast, an ulcerogenic effect was obtained with 0.01 mg/kg b.w. of somatostatin.
