A Review of Decision-Making Strategies of Profit-Seeking Demand Response Aggregators

With the development of smart grid and relevant technologies, demand response (DR) resources from the demand side have been utilized to support the economic and secure operation of the power system. DR aggregator (DRA) has been introduced to fully exploit the potential of DR resources, who seeks to maximize its profits by optimally aggregate and schedule DR resources. Based on a detailed survey of recent research works, this paper attempts to summarize the decision-making strategies of profit-seeking DRAs and the challenges faced by DRAs when participating in the electricity market.
