Time-domain measurement for evanescent-wave amplification

2008
We use the time-domain method to study the anomalous evanescent wave amplification phenomenon arising when pairing together materials slabs with opposite signs for the real parts of their constitutive parameters. Transmission coefficient shows that there exists a complete tunneling frequency point which behaves total transparent to incoming waves. It is observed that electric field is exponentially increasing-decreasing distributed. Energy is highest at the interface. The phase doesnpsilat delay when waves travel through the pair. Time-domain measurement also demonstrates that the bilayer need some time to achieve a final growing-exponential distribution inside the bilayer.
