TEACHER VIEWS ABOUT LEARNING STYLES AND USAGE OF LEARNING STYLES IN TEACHING PROCESS: A CASE STUDY OF ADIYAMAN PROVINCE

The aim of this study is to identify teacher opinions about learning styles and usage of learning styles in teaching process. The participants of the study comprise 25 primary education teachers that work in the center of Adyyaman province in 2009–2010 academic year. In the study, random sampling method is used. Semi-structured interview technique is used as data collecting method. In the analysis of collected data, content analysis method and descriptive method, which are qualitative data analyses methods, are used. In the end of this study, these results are found: teachers have enough information about learning styles and benefits of creating environment that are oriented with learning styles, however their schools are not suitable for oriented environments with learning styles and their suggestions are very meaningful.
